1. The way you see determines how you will receive.
If we want to receive fully, we have to start with our eyes, our vision. We need to ask God to open our eyes to see with clarity. If we can’t see clearly, then we won’t be able to accept or perceive what God is trying to give to us.
2. Read – Meditate – Do the Word of God
This is self evident and explanatory, but it is the Word of God that is faithful to train us in righteousness, and give us revelation and keys we need to see clearly. The Word of God is the lens we need to see through continually to ensure our spiritual eyes are sharpened.
3. See yourself as God sees you
It will not be possible to fulfill Gods purpose in your life if you cannot see yourself as God sees you. If we reject Gods vision of how He sees us, then we will end up like the disobedient children of Israel who were called to enter the promise, but rejected Gods vision for them. God has expressed in His word exactly who He sees us as, and we need to view ourself from what the Word says we are, and not our experiences/feelings towards ourselves.
4. See God as He is
Now this might be arguably the most important thing in regards to sharpening our spiritual eyes. We must understand who the Father is and the best expression of this is through Jesus. If we do not understand God as He is than we can miss what He is saying because we can’t perceive that it’s Him. God can speak to us in many ways, but if we are conformed to our circumstances or experiences as our measure of God, we could miss the mark.
5. See the Commission of the Lord the way He sees it
The things of God are spiritually discerned, and the great commission is a mandate for all believers. We must see the great commission the way the Lord sees it so we can properly be aligned contextually to the vision God is giving us for the purpose of our life. If understand and walk this out in our own understanding, we cannot please God because we walk in the flesh instead of the spirit.
Such an eye opener in many ways. I’m reminded that it’s a daily renewing not a one shot deal but being reminded that it’s a daily meditation of the word, daily renewing of the mind. You began to see results of that change as you are diligent on a daily bases… reforming habits as strobelle mentioned. It’s easy to get discouraged when I don’t see the results right away.
